The Royal Academy of Dance is one of the world\u2019s most influential dance education and training organisations, with its global headquarters in London.<\/p>

The RAD was established in 1920 and its patron is Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. With 13,000 members in 89 countries and offices in 36, they have an incredible global network of passionate and skilled employees, teachers and members, each shaping and influencing the future of dance.<\/p>

Their higher education programmes are regulated and a recent Ofsted inspection found the RAD to be an \u2018outstanding\u2019 provider of initial teacher education. The RAD\u2019s examinations are recognised by Ofqual and contribute to UCAS points.<\/p>

There are currently over 1,000 students in full-time or part-time dance teacher training programmes and each year the RAD\u2019s renowned classical ballet examination syllabus is taught to thousands of young people worldwide, with around a quarter of a million pupils per year going on to take our exams.<\/p>

The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) is one of the world\u2019s leading dance examination boards. Since 1904 they have provided training for dance teachers and examiners, enabling teachers to enter their students for examinations, develop new techniques and spread the joy of dance.<\/p>

As a registered educational charity and membership association, the ISTD\u2019s mission is to educate the public in the art of dancing in all its forms, to promote knowledge of dance, to provide up-to-date techniques for our members, and to maintain and improve teaching standards.<\/p>

The ISTD\u2019s examinations contribute to UCAS points.<\/p>
